Maggot-infested body found in UIA hostel

A Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIA) undergraduate was shocked to find the maggot-infested body of his room-mate.

The deceased, identified as Mamadou Aliou Tela Diallo from Guinea, West Africa, was found dead in his hostel room at UIA in Gombak Monday.


His room-mate found the 25-year-old on the floor when he returned from a field assignment at about 12.20pm.


Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rahim Abdullah said there were traces of blood around the body but no indication of a struggle.


He said initial investigations revealed that Mamadou could have died about a week ago.


He said the victim's room-mate, who wished to be known only as Sharif, said Mamadou had epilepsy and often sought treatment at the university's clinic and hospital.


The body was sent to the Selayang Hospital.

Boy dies trying to fly like Superman

A four-year-old boy died after jumping down from the fourth floor of a building in China.


His elder brother, six, who also jumped and was seen falling down with his hands outstretched like Superman, was saved.

According to a shop owner on the ground floor of the building, she heard a loud bang at around 3.30pm.


When she walked out of the shop, she saw a boy lying in a pool of blood.


"I did not know how he fell but one minute later the people who had gathered there and I saw another boy on a fourth-floor balcony.


"We shouted to him not to jump but it was too late," she said, adding that the boy jumped down with his arms outstretched like Superman.


She said the witnesses tried to catch the boy but failed.


It is believed the boys were mimicking the comic-book superhero Superman.


The boys were sent to a local hospital where the elder brother was saved after emergency treatment.


The younger one died about two hours later.

Form six student jumps to his death.

A Form Six student of SMK Yu Hua here fell to his death from the fourth floor of one of the school's buildings Tuesday morning, moments after attending a counselling session.

Nge Hao Zheng, 18, who was found in a pool of blood on the ground floor, died on the spot from multiple injuries at about 9.20am.


Security guard Shamsol Mazli Abdul Samad, 38, said he heard a loud thud and when he went to take a look, he saw the boy on the ground in a pool of blood.


It is learnt that Nge, who did not have a disciplinary record, was referred for the counselling session after he nudged a female student on Monday.


Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rashid Abdul said Nge had gone for a counselling session between 8am and 9am at the counsellor's office on the third floor of the building.


"Initial investigations revealed that just moments after he came out of the counselling session, he went to the fourth floor of the same building before he fell," he said.


ACP Abdul Rashid said police have classified the case as sudden death, adding that Nge's body was sent to the Serdang Hospital for post mortem.
